Sunday Scoops 06/05/22

It's Sunday, and that means it's time to talk about all the gaming news this week.

By: Evan1Sonic. This week has been a very slow week of news, with Pokémon Scarlet and Violet getting a new trailer, news from the recent PlayStation State of Play, Destroy All Humans! 2 – Reprobed coming August 30th, and more.

PlayStation State of Play news. Sony aired a PlayStation State of Play event on June 2nd, which featured lots of titles coming to PS5, PS4, PSVR, and PSVR2. Some of the titles that were shown at this event included Resident Evil 4 Remake, Final Fantasy XVI, and Stray. Some other highlights were The Callisto Protocall getting a release date of December 2nd, Marvel’s Spider-Man and Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales coming to PC, and Horizon Call of the Mountain, among other PSVR2 titles. You can read our full recap of everything shown at the event here.

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet got a new trailer. A new trailer has been released for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the two games set in the 9th generation of Pokémon. While the games had previously been revealed, on Wednesday we learnt a little more about them, including the new Pokémon Lechonk, Smoliv, and Pawmi. Each of these new Pokémon has a stylish look, and Lechonk has quickly become a fan favorite. We also learned that the game will support four-player cooperative play and saw a bit of the two new legendary Pokémon, Koraidon and Miraidon. The three starter Pokémon in these games are Sprigatito, a grass-type cat; Fuecoco, a fire-type crocodile; and Quaxly, a water-type duck. Explore a new region in this open-world title when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release on Switch on November 18th, 2022. You can watch the new trailer for the games here.
