Sunday Scoops 06/18/23

It’s Sunday, which means it's time to talk about all the gaming news this week

By: Evan1Sonic. This week has been a big one for news, with a lot of reveals from recent game showcases, Dead Cells getting an animated series, and more.

News from the recent Xbox Games Showcase. The Xbox Games Showcase event that aired on June 11th featured a little over two dozen titles coming to Xbox platforms. Some of those games include Fable, Avowed, and Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2. A few other highlights include Payday 3 locking in a September 21st, 2023 release date, Star Wars Outlaws being revealed with a 2024 release window, and Starfield showcasing a big chunk of gameplay as well as confirming a September 6th, 2023 launch date. Some new Atlus titles were also revealed, including Persona 3 Reload, a remake that's coming early next year; Persona 5 Tactics, which releases on November 17th, 2023; and a brand new title from the Persona developers, Metaphor Re Fantazio. To round out the event, a new Clockwork Revolution trailer premiered along with the new release window of early 2024. This lengthy summer event provided a great look at what to expect from the future of Xbox. You can watch the full event here.

News from the recent Ubisoft Forward. The Ubisoft Forward event that aired on June 12th featured a good number of titles from Ubisoft. Some of those games include Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown, Skull and Bones, and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, which releases on December 7th, 2023. A few other highlights include the gameplay reveal of Star Wars Outlaws and a better look at the gameplay of Assassin's Creed Mirage. This summer event provided a great look at what to expect from Ubisoft in the future. You can watch the full event here.
