What Ya Playing Speedrun 04/12/23

What Ya Playing Wednesday

By: Evan1Sonic. It's Wednesday, which means it's time to talk about the games you and I have played over the past week. More information about where to send your submissions to be featured in the series will be at the bottom of this post. This week I've been playing Octopath Traveler 2, The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog, and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. This What Ya Playing is a shorter Speedrun version of the usual format.

Quick Play takes over this week's What Ya Playing, which means it's time to share my short thoughts on some games I’ve been playing lately.

Octopath Traveler 2. After over twenty hours, I can confidently say this is one of the best RPGs I’ve played in recent memory. If you didn’t like Octopath Traveler, then I don’t think this sequel is for you, but if you loved or never played the first game, I can’t recommend it enough. This title is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

The Murder of Sonic the Hedgehog. This visual novel point-and-click adventure title, despite my first thought when first seeing it, is an actual game from Sega. Set at a murder mystery party hosted by Amy, you’ll be interrogating familiar characters in order to find out what happened to everyone's favorite hedgehog. If you’re a big Sonic fan like me, this short story is a must-play. This goofy spinoff adventure is available to download for free on PC.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty. While I’m only a few hours in, I’m having a great time with this title. Big bosses that provide a challenge while also not making me want to throw in the towel (aside from the first you encounter) have been the highlight of my experience, along with solid gameplay and nice upgrades. This action RPG souls-like game is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Now to hear about the games you’ve been playing.

Cris: Mario Brothers, Nothing beats Mario, I am old school!

Shari: I had a platformer itch and decided to start a replay of Super Mario Odyssey the other day.

Jac: Ghostwire: Tokyo and Meet Your Maker, both are great and free with PS Plus right now.

Thank you for the submissions!

You can send your submissions to be featured on the next What Ya Playing to our email: contact@elevategames.net. You can submit the name of a game/s you've been playing and a bunch of text explaining what you enjoy (or don't enjoy) about that/these game/s if you’re fancy. I look forward to hearing about the game/s you've been playing. Thanks.

This has been this week's What Ya Playing Wednesday. I'll see you all soon for another article about what games you and I have recently played and/or enjoyed.

Thanks for reading and Game On!!
