What Ya Playing Speedrun 05/03/23

What Ya Playing Wednesday

By: Evan1Sonic. It's Wednesday, which means it's time to talk about the games you and I have played over the past week. More information about where to send your submissions to be featured in the series will be at the bottom of this post. This week I've been playing Star Wars: Jedi Survivor, Octopath Traveler 2, Redfall, Minecraft Legends, and finished High on Life. This What Ya Playing is a shorter speedrun version of the usual format.

Quick Play takes over this week's What Ya Playing, which means it's time to share my short thoughts on some games I’ve been playing lately.

Star Wars: Jedi Survivor. After just over four hours, I’ve been having a mostly good time. The souls-like combat and story are both amazing, but there are a lot of technical issues that, while they don’t ruin the game, can’t be easily ignored. Some crashes, a lot of pop in, and some other minor bugs occurred during my time with the game. This sequel is fantastic, but until the tech problems get patched, I don’t know how much I can happily recommend it. This title is available on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Octopath Traveler 2. I’ve played for about forty hours and have been having an incredible time with this fantastic RPG game. I still have a ways to go before I’m done with this adventure, but I have little doubt that the game will be high on my GOTY list this year. Solid combat, beautiful visuals, and a great story are just some of the highlights of my time with the second entry in the Octopath series. This title is available on PS4, PS5, Switch, and PC.

Redfall. I’m very early in the game currently, but I’ve been having a blast shooting up vampires and, well, nothing else. This is far from a great game with a plethora of problems, but there’s fun to be had, especially in multiplayer coop with friends. This title is available on Xbox Series X/S and PC.

Minecraft Legends. I’ve played for a little over an hour so far and have been having a fine time. I’m not the biggest fan of RTS games, and though I’m glad I tried it, I don’t think I’ll stick with it til the credits roll. If you are a fan of RTS adventures or are a Minecraft diehard, then Legends is for you; if not, you might not have the best time. This title is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.

High on Life. I’ve finished this great FPS game. Solid gunplay and a comedy-filled story are both the best parts of this sci-fi adventure. It’s a short, fresh game in the genre that is a blast to play. This title is available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
