Everything Shown at The Capcom Showcase in June

Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak is an action-RPG fighting game from Capcom. In the new trailer aired at this event, we learned more about Monster Hunter Rise’s first expansion. This trailer shows a first look at newly confirmed monsters Espinas (from Monster Hunter Frontiers), Gore Magala (Monster Hunter 4’s flagship monster), plus variants Daimyo Hermitaur and Pyre Rakna-Kadaki. Free game updates are also on the way for the base game throughout 2022 and 2023. Play the DLC solo or with up to four friends in multiplayer when Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak launches on June 30th, 2022. A demo is also now available on Steam and Switch.
Street Fighter VI is a fighting game from Capcom. While we didn't learn anything new during the game's most recent showing at this event, here's a recap of what we know. Guile, Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, and Jamie make up the character roster. The three game modes in Street Fighter 6 are: Fighting Ground, which focuses on the basic fighting game experience with modes from previous Street Fighter games; World Tour, "an immersive single-player story experience," and Battle Hub, which sounds like a social area for player communication. Become the best fighter in the world when Street Fighter 6 launches on PS4 and PS5 in 2023.
Capcom Fighting Collection is a fighting game collection from Capcom. This collection of ten games includes some hit arcade classics. The games included in this compilation are Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors, Night Warriors: Darkstalkers’ Revenge, Vampire Savior: The Lord of Vampire, Hyper Street Fighter II: The Anniversary Edition, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix, Cyberbots: Full Metal Madness, and Red Earth. Both Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers’ Revenge and Vampire Savior 2: The Lord of Vampire are also available, but only in Japanese. Enjoy these classic arcade titles on current hardware when Capcom Fighting Collection launches for PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC on June 24th, 2022.
Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium is a game from Capcom. This title is a collection of thirty-two classic arcade games. Some arcade mainstays included in this compilation are Street Fighter, Saturday Night Slam Masters, Black Tiger, Mega Man 2: The Power Fighters, and A.K.A. Magic Sword. Additionally, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior is free for a limited time. The games can also be purchased separately. Play or replay over thirty arcade titles when Capcom Arcade 2nd Stadium launches on July 22nd, 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC.
Exoprimal is an online team-based action game from Capcom. Players don cutting-edge exosuits in this game, which is set in the near future of 2040, and face off against overwhelming armies of dinosaurs. Assemble a team of five people, then battle online against other teams to see who can defeat their foes and finish their missions first. You will be led throughout the game by Leviathan, an AI that appears to have some sort of underlying agenda. Three exosuit roles are available to choose from: assault, which employs a variety of attacks to kill opponents; tank, which defends teammates by blocking enemy strikes; and support, which has the ability to both heal comrades and weaken foes. You can also change exosuits at any time, but doing so will make you temporarily vulnerable. Fight T. Rex, raptors, pteranodons, and more when Exoprimal comes to PS4 and PS5 in 2023. Dragon's Dogma, the action RPG game from Capcom, is turning ten this year. Revealed at this event, a special video celebrating its 10th anniversary will be coming this week. You can watch the anniversary video when it airs here.
Resident Evil Village, the survival horror game from Capcom, is getting new DLC. Mercenaries: Additional Orders, new story DLC, and other additions will be included in this winter expansion. Players can take on the roles of Lady Alcina Dimitrescu, Chris Redfield, and Karl Heisenberg in the new Mercenaries mode. The highlight of this expansion is the Shadows of Rose story DLC. The narrative of this DLC will center on Rose and will be a continuation of the main campaign. From a third-person perspective, we’ll play as Rose as she enters the "consciousness of the Megamycete" a place where "time and space are warped beyond recognition." When this DLC becomes available, you'll also be able to complete the original game in third person. Play as Rose in the new story DLC, multiple characters in Mercenaries, or Ethan in the main game when Resident Evil Village Gold Edition launches on October 28th, 2022. The game is also coming to PSVR2 and Mac in the future.
Resident Evil 4 Remake is a survival horror game from Capcom. The game is being developed to achieve “state-of-the-art quality for a survival horror suitable for 2023, while preserving the essence of the original game.” According to Capcom's promotion producer, Edvin Edsö, “We aim to make the game feel familiar to fans of the series, while also providing a fresh feeling to it. This is being done by reimagining the storyline of the game while keeping the essence of its direction, modernizing the graphics, and updating the controls to a modern standard.” Relive the 2005 classic, Resident Evil 4, when the Resident Evil 4 remake comes to PS5, on March 24th, 2023. Also, some kind of PSVR2 content for the game is currently in development.
Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 just got current-gen updates. Ray tracing, enhanced frame rate support, 4K resolution, and other visual upgrades are included in these new versions. Advanced haptic feedback with the DualSense controller will also be offered on the PlayStation 5 versions. If you already own any of the games, you can get a free upgrade for those you currently own (within the same console family). These games' current-gen upgrades are available now on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
You can watch the full event here. This event was slightly disappointing but still provided a nice look at the games coming from Capcom in the future. My favorite game shown at this event was Resident Evil 4 Remake. I have yet to play Resident Evil 4 and this looks like it’ll be the perfect way to play the horror title.
