Xenoblade Chronicles 3 is an action-RPG game from Monolith Soft. The game received its own Nintendo Direct earlier this week that was solely dedicated to it. At this event, we learned some new information about the game and saw its latest trailer, which you can watch here. Per the trailer, each person in this world has ten years to live. During this time, they either fight people from the other nations until they pass away or until they receive the honor of a homecoming ceremony. The lead characters, however, are now on the run after meeting each other during a special mission and electing to form a team rather than take part in the violent war raging around them. You can initiate quest routes in the game's expansive world, which will direct you to your most recent objective. Nintendo also stated that the game will receive an expansion pack, have fast travel, and be Amiibo compatible. Restore the world's natural order when Xenoblade Chronicles 3 launches for Switch on July 29th, 2022.
From Software’s next project and more. Earlier this week, 4Gamer conducted an interview with Hidetaka Miyazaki, president of From Software and director of Elden Ring. Keep in mind that these quotes may differ somewhat from the original Japanese text because I used Google Translate to translate this interview. When asked whether a previously unnamed game was still in development, Miyazaki said, "Yes. Development is in its final stages." Beyond this comment, he didn't say anything further about the game or what to expect from it. Continuing with the interview, Miyazaki stated that multiple projects are in the works at From Software from several directors. "I was able to create a title with a sense of scale of Elden Ring because of the growth of human resources in the company, but from now on, I think we will often leave the project to them. In fact, there are several titles directed by people other than me, and it's time to increase the number of developers." Elden Ring was a major topic during the conversation, with Miyazaki confirming that more updates are on the way for the game, though bigger plans such as DLC were not mentioned. Towards the end of the interview, however, he leaves plenty of room for a possible sequel. When 4Gamer states Elden Ring 2 would sell well, but From Software has been avoiding sequels recently, Miyazaki responds, "It's a case-by-case basis. There are merits to both taking over the numbering and creating a new work with a new title, so I would like to select as appropriate." The entire Japanese interview can be found here, though nothing else mentioned was newsworthy.
