What Ya Playing Wednesday

By: Evan1Sonic. It's Wednesday, which means it's time to talk about the games you and I have played and/or enjoyed this past week. More information about where to send your submissions to be featured in the series will be at the bottom of this post. This week I've been playing Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredders Revenge, Neon White and AVICII Invector.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is a Beat ‘em Up game from Tribute Games. So far, I’ve played about three hours of the game and am around sixty-five percent of the way through the campaign. I don’t typically enjoy Beat ‘em Up games, but so far I’m really liking TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge. I’m not sure if this is down to the TMNT license that I’m slightly familiar with, the level-structured story mode, or something else. Out of the four turtles, Splinter, April O'Neil, and Casey Jones, I’ve only played as Leonardo and April O’Neil. Once combat got a tad repetitive, I switched characters to April O’Neil. Learning and mastering both characters’ combat styles was engaging. While the game supports up to six-player multiplayer, I’ve had a blast playing solo. The pixel art looks great, and the animated cutscenes are even better. Some of the stage music is also really good. I have yet to finish the game, but from where I am currently, I think this game is a great throwback to the classic TMNT Beat ‘em Ups of yesteryear that sadly doesn’t add anything new to the genre. If you’re a fan of the mutant turtles and crew or are in the mood for a new Beat ‘em Up game, give this title a try. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder's Revenge is available on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC. It’s also on console and PC Game Pass.

Quick Play is this section of What Ya Playing where I share some of my short thoughts on games I’ve been playing lately.

Neon White. While I’m only an hour or two into the game, I’ve been really loving it. The speedrun-designed gameplay and good story make this title a quick recommendation for Switch and PC gamers.

AVICII Invector. I started this game because it’s included with the Extra and Premium tiers of PS Plus, and I didn’t stick with it for long, but I enjoyed my short time with it. If you're looking for a short rhythm game or are a big fan of AVICII, then this is the title for you, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

Now to hear about what games the community has been playing?

Shera Brady. Some of Destiny 2 and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.

Thank you for the submission!
