Opening Act Reveals

Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania is the newest DLC for the hit action-platformer roguelike game Dead Cells. Together with Castlevania protagonists Richter Belmont and Alucard, you'll fight hordes of monsters in this DLC in a quest to reach the Dark Lord's throne room. Enjoy fourteen weapons and items, two new biomes, and fifty-one original Castlevania music tracks when Dead Cells: Return to Castlevania launches on PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC early next year.

Vampire Survivors is now available on mobile devices. You'll be attacked by endless swarms of monsters in this game. To rapidly turn the tide and turn against your foes, you must either make the best decisions or rely on your abilities and chosen weaponry. Vampire Survivors is out now on iOS and Android. The game is also available on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC and is free with Game Pass.

Valiant Hearts: Coming Home is a narrative-focused game from Ubisoft. This game, which takes place during World War I, follows four characters as they cope with the effects of war. The gameplay combines puzzles, action, and exploration to provide a nice mix of all three. Walt from the original game will also make an appearance in this installment. Play the follow-up to the original Valiant Hearts when Valiant Hearts: Coming Home comes to mobile via Netflix Games early next year.

Returnal, the third-person shooter roguelike game from Housemarque, is coming to PC. Play Selene, who awakens to find herself trapped on a dark and mysterious planet called Atropos in this title. Take on merciless foes and waves of bullet-hell projectiles as you escape Atropos when Returnal comes to PC early next year.

Hellboy Web of Wyrd is a roguelite action-adventure game from Upstream Arcade. You control Hellboy in this game as he embarks on a string of seemingly unrelated adventures that are ultimately tied to the enigmatic Butterfly House. Of course, there are many challenging one-on-one battles along the way. The visual aesthetic of the game is cel-shaded, much like Mike Mignola's original Hellboy comics. Investigate the disappearance of an agent and see where it takes you when Hellboy Web of Wyrd launches on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, and PC soon.

Horizon Call of the Mountain is an action-adventure game from Firesprite and Guerrilla Games. In this title, you play as Ryas, a former Shadow Carja Warrior who seeks redemption by investigating a dangerous threat to the Sundom. Scale perilous mountains and take down mighty machines as you master various tools and weapons and craft additional gear. According to Sony, the game will "embrace a new level of immersion in a unique experience, designed to push hardware technology, innovation, and gameplay." Experience the world of Horizon in a new way through Ryas’ eyes when Horizon Call of the Mountain launches for PSVR2 on February 22nd, 2023.

Post Trauma is a horror game from Red Soul Games. The short teaser for this title showcased creepy surroundings, a wall made of mannequin-like bodies, and a man wading through a deep pool of blood. Try to escape the surreal world you find yourself trapped in when Post Trauma launches on PC and consoles soon.

Viewfinder is a puzzle platformer game from Sad Owl Studios. With an instant camera, you can alter perception, redefine reality, and change the environment in this adventure. After taking a photo of the world with this camera and printing it out, it may then be laid over the real world to alter it. Solve a variety of puzzles with this neat mechanic when Viewfinder launches on PS5 and PC next year.

Among Us Hide N Seek is a new gamemode for the hit multiplayer title Among Us. It is evident from the trailer announcing this new mode that it is modeled around the child classic, hide-and-seek. It appears that the seekers will be engaging in a lot of pursuing and murder, and the crewmates are able to use the vents to escape death. Hide from the seekers or go on a crewmate murder spree when Among Us Hide N Seek launches for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Switch, iOS, Android, and PC on December 9th, 2022.

After Us is an adventure platformer game from Piccolo Studios. In this title, your mother utilizes all of her life force to save the souls of the final animals, which are now imprisoned in their corpses after their deaths. After learning of their demise, the last whale harpooned, the last deer slaughtered, and others must be resurrected. Use some unique skills to survive encounters with the perilous, oil-covered devourers that prowl the wasteland looking for any remaining life. Navigate an abstract world and salvage the souls of extinct animals when After Us launches on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC next spring.

Replaced is an action platformer game from Sad Cat Studios. In Replaced, you take control of R.E.A.C.H., an artificial intelligence that was unwillingly installed in a human body and is now attempting to adapt to daily life in and around Phoenix-City. Everything in this city is governed by greed and corruption, and the powerful view people as their organs as nothing more than money. Explore and uncover the mysteries of a gritty, cyberpunk-inspired world when Replaced launches on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC next year.

Street Fighter 6 is a fighting game from Capcom. We learned about new characters, got a taste of the mini-games that will be in the game, and saw new gameplay footage during the game's most recent showing at this event. Dee Jay, Manon, Marisa, and JP will join Ryu, Chun-Li, Luke, Guile, and Jamie on the roster. The three game modes in Street Fighter 6 are: Fighting Ground, which focuses on the basic fighting game experience with modes from previous Street Fighter games; World Tour, "an immersive single-player story experience;" and Battle Hub, which is a social area for players.Become the best fighter in the world when Street Fighter 6 launches for PS4 and PS5 on June 2nd, 2023.

Main Show Reveals

Hades 2 is a roguelike game from Supergiant Games. This title follows Melinoë as she attempts to defeat the King of the Titans, Chronos. Melinoë, the character you play as in the game, is the sister of Zagreus, the protagonist of the first game. A post on Supergiant's website describes the game as being “rooted in the Underworld of Greek myth and its deep connections to the dawn of witchcraft.” Explore a big mythic world and wipe out Chronos’ cronies when Hades 2 releases at some point in the future. News about early access is coming next year.

Judas is a FPS game from Ghost Story Games. The trailer follows Judas as she battles for survival on a destroyed spacecraft. It showcased stunning visuals as well as Bioshock-style gameplay. Sadly, not much else is known about this title yet, but I’d presume we’ll hear more about it next year. Play the next game from Ken Levine and the team that made Bioshock when Judas launches on PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC soon.

Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon is an action-adventure game from PlatinumGames. Before Bayonetta even got her name, she embarked on a perilous trek into the forbidden Avalon Forest. Cheshire, her first demon, was alongside her and was in control of Cereza's plush animal. Play as both characters in this storybook-style adventure when Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon launches for Switch on March 17th, 2022.

Destiny 2: Lightfall is the next expansion coming to the FPS MMO game Destiny 2. The new trailer shown at this event showcased the grappling hook that will come as an ability with the guardian's new Strand powers. Players in Lightfall will face a new foe, Calus, a cunning former emperor of the Cabal. The Guardians will visit a brand-new location, the glistening megacity of Neomuna on Neptune, and use the powers provided by the brand-new subclass Strand to face any foe in their path. Destiny 2: Lightfall launches for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on February 28th, 2023.

Suicide Squad is an action-adventure game from Rocksteady Studios. It has been revealed that Batman in this title will be played by Kevin Conroy, who passed away earlier this year. His final performance as the famous hero is a surprising twist. Batman has become evil, just like Superman and the other Justice League members, and you must stop him. Stop the Justice League when Suicide Squad launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on May 26th, 2023.

The Last of Us Part I, the action-adventure survival horror game from Naughty Dog, is coming to PC. The Last of Us was first released on the PlayStation 3 almost a decade ago, and it got a remake for the PS5 earlier this year. Modernized gameplay, enhanced controls, and extended accessibility settings are just a few of the enhancements made for this remake compared to the initial version. Adventure across the United States in search of a cure for the fungal plague when The Last of Us Part I comes to PC on March 3rd, 2022.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is an action-adventure game from Respawn Entertainment. This sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order will continue Cal Kestis’ adventure five years after the events of the first game. In this new adventure, where he will encounter new and interesting characters, Cal will learn new methods to tap into the Force. The new trailer aired at this event showcased Cal dual-wielding lightsabers, an ascension cable for vertical traversal, as well as the ability to tame and ride different creatures. The identity of the mysterious individual kept in a Bacta tank that was featured heavily in the first trailer is still unknown. Asmussen (the games director) said earlier this year, “We're leveraging advanced technology to create more dynamic Jedi combat and cinematic storytelling to expand on Cal's story as he matures and survives during the dark times.” Continue the fight against the Empire when Star Wars Jedi Survivor launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on March 17th, 2023.

Earthblade is a side-scrolling action platformer game from Extremely OK Games. Along with 2D platforming gameplay, Earthblade has a similar cheery pixel art aesthetic to its predecessor, Celeste. The game's trailer showed off some sort of fighting mechanics as well as slick gameplay. Play the next game from the makers of Celeste when Earthblade launches in 2024.

Dune Awakening is an open-world survival MMO game from Funcom. This title "is set on Arrakis and takes inspiration from both Frank Herbert’s novels and Denis Villeneuve’s Academy Award-winning film while exploring exciting new possibilities in the franchise." Survive the countless dangers of Arrakis alongside thousands of other players when Dune Awakening launches soon on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.

Forspoken is an open-world action RPG game from Luminous Productions. You play as Frey Holland, a young woman who is transported from New York City to the fantasy world of Athia. To traverse this world, you can run, jump, use skills such as riding on a magical surfboard, and more. Use magical powers to journey through Athia and survive in order to find your way home when Forspoken launches for PS5 and PC on January 24th, 2023. A demo of the game is also now available on PS5.

You can watch the full event here. So far, this event has been exciting and has provided a good look at what games are coming soon. My favorite game shown so far at this event was Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The game appears to be a strong improvement on the already great Jedi: Fallen Order and will hopefully be an incredible continuation of Cal's journey.
