A new PlayStation State of Play is coming in June

New PlayStation State of Play Announced for June 2nd

By: Evan1Sonic. Sony has announced that their next State of Play, which will focus on new game announcements and more, will stream on June 2nd at 6 p.m. Eastern (3 p.m. Pacific).

According to the PlayStation Blog, the event will last 30 minutes and feature "exciting reveals from our third-party partners." Because the post makes no mention of first-party titles, it seems that we won't be hearing anything about God of War: Ragnarok or Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at this event.

We will also get a "sneak peek" at PlayStation VR2 titles, according to Sony. While there are no other details on what titles to expect, we can hope to see Horizon: Call of the Mountain, though it is feasible that it will not be shown due to the event's focus on third-party games. Either way, we’ll hear more about what games are coming to PlayStation’s next virtual reality headset.

The last PlayStation State of Play was held in March, and it featured game announcements such as Exoprimal, Returnal Ascension, and Valkyrie Elysium. In an article that you can read here, we recapped everything announced at this event. Since this may be Sony's only appearance during June's slew of gaming events, it's likely to feature some exciting game announcements even if none of them are from first-party studios.

What do you think will be shown at this event? Let me know in the comments below.

Thanks for reading and Game On!!
