Nintendo Direct February 2022 Recap.

By: Evan1Sonic. From Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes to Klonoa Phantasie Reverie Series, here is a recap of all of the games shown at this month's Nintendo Direct. All of the release dates listed here are for the Switch.

Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes is a third-person action Musou game. This title will take place in the same universe as Fire Emblem: Three Houses but will present a completely different story. Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes launches on June 24, 2022.

Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp is a remaster of the first two tactics-focused Advance Wars games. Some improvements in this remaster include a voiceover for all of the commanding officers, a custom map generator, a fast-forward button, and more. Advance Wars 1+2: Re-Boot Camp launches on April 8th, 2022.

No Man's Sky is a survival action-adventure game. Explore space in No Man's Sky's procedurally generated enormous universe. This Switch version will include the past five years of updates and will be released in the summer of this year.

Mario Strikers Battle League is a sports game and the latest title in the Mario Strikers series. You play 5v5 soccer matches with or against characters such as Mario, Donkey Kong, Luigi, and more. You have special moves you can execute to help gain extra points, such as the Hyper Strike. After gathering an orb that falls on the pitch and charging it, you can use this move. If you use it, then the next goal your team scores will count as two instead of one. You can customize your character of choice by putting on gear that increases certain stats. Mario Strikers Battle League launches on June 10th, 2022.

Splatoon 3, the third game in the Splatoon series, got a new trailer showcasing the Salmon Run co-op mode that makes a return in this title. In this mode, you face off against salmon enemies and bosses with the goal of collecting power eggs. Splatoon 3 launches in the summer of this year.

Front Mission 1st: Remake is a tactical RPG game and a remaster of the first Front Mission game. In this title, you pilot weaponized machines named Wanzers and usher your team to victory. Front Mission 1st: Remake launches in summer 2022. Front Mission 2: Remake, a remake of the second game in the Front Mission series, will be released sometime after this game.

Disney Speedstorm is an arcade kart racing game. You can play as various characters, such as Mickey Mouse, Donald Duck, Mulan, Sully, and more. The game will have seasons of content that add new tracks, racers, and other items. Play with your friends with local co-op or online play with cross-play. This free-to-play racer, Disney Speedstorm, launches in the summer of 2022.

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed is an action-adventure game set in the Star Wars universe. Use the powers of the force as you hunt down Jedi Masters. You can play the game with button controls or with motion controls enhanced from the original Wii version. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed launches on April 20th, 2022.

Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection is a collection of games in the Assassin's Creed series. The collection includes Assassin’s Creed II, Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood, Assassin’s Creed Revelations, and two films focused on Ezio. Become a powerful assassin when Assassin's Creed: The Ezio Collection launches on February 17th, 2022.

SD Gundam Battle Alliance is an action RPG game. Experience Gundam's most famous scenes by yourself or with two friends in multiplayer. Lead a 3-unit squad to victory when SD Gundam Battle Alliance launches on Switch at some point in 2022.

Crono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition is a remaster of the 1999 RPG Chrono Cross. This remaster will receive visual upgrades, quality of life features, and an enhanced soundtrack. The game will also come with Radical Dreamers, a text-adventure game that was only released in Japan till now. Crono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition launches on April 7th, 2022.

Kirby and the Forgotten Land is a 3D platformer adventure game. In this new title in the Kirby series, you will be able to evolve many of Kirby's copy abilities to make them more powerful. The game will have a central base you can return to called Waddle Dee Town. The more Waddle Dees you rescue, the bigger this town gets. The game will also feature Mouthful Mode. With this new ability, Kirby can wrap his body around and become a car, vending machine, traffic cone, and more. Play solo or with a friend in the local co-op mode when Kirby and the Forgotten Land launches on March 25th, 2022.

MLB The Show 22 is a simulation sports game in which you play baseball. Create, customize, and use ballplayers beyond Road to the Show and more, in the newest entry in the MLB The Show series. This game will include cross-progression and crossplay between other versions of the game. MLB The Show 22 launches on April 5th, 2022.

Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece is a collection of all of the Kingdom Hearts games in the Dark Seeker Saga. While this collection is a cloud game, it's great to see the Kingdon Hearts series on Switch. Kingdom Hearts Integrum Masterpiece launches on February 10th, 2022.

Klonoa Phantasie Reverie Series is a remastered collection of the first two Klonoa games. Some improvements to the side-scrolling platformers include revamped visuals, two-player co-op, and more. Klonoa Phantasie Reverie Series launches on Nintendo Switch on July 8th, 2022.

So far, this event has been very exciting, with new titles such as Fire Emblem Warriors: Three Hopes and Mario Strikers Battle League, as well as smaller games like Disney Speedstorm and SD Gundam Battle Alliance, making appearances. My favorite game shown so far was Chrono Cross: The Radical Dreamers Edition. I've never played the game before, but this remaster will give me the perfect opportunity to do so.
