Sunday Scoops 08/07/22

It’s Sunday, and that means it's time to talk about all the gaming news this week

By: Evan1Sonic. This week has been a slow week of news, with some new Pokémon Scarlet and Violet details, Spider-Man Remastered getting Steam Deck Verified, and more.

New Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Details. A new trailer has been released for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, the two games set in the 9th generation of Pokémon. While the games had previously been announced, we learnt a little more about them in this trailer, including information on the new special forms called Terastal Pokémon and a look at new Pokémon Fidough and Paldean Wooper. Each of these Pokémon has a stylish look, and like Lechonk from the last trailer, Fidough has quickly become a fan favorite. The new Terastal Pokémon forms are crystalized versions of familiar (and new) Pokémon. According to the developers, these versions “provide a boost to a Pokémon's type and make its moves stronger" in addition to giving each Pokémon capable of Terastaling a special ability that allows it to change its elemental type. By participating in Tera Raid Battles, a brand-new battle type in which you team up with three other trainers with the goal of defeating a Terastral Pokémon, you'll be able to attempt to catch one of these special Pokémon. If you haven’t been keeping tabs on these games, you might have missed that the three starter Pokémon in these games are Sprigatito, a grass-type cat; Fuecoco, a fire-type crocodile; and Quaxly, a water-type duck. Explore a new region in this open-world title when Pokémon Scarlet and Violet release on Switch on November 18th, 2022. You can watch the new trailer for the games here.

Ooblets has gone gold. The adventure RPG game from Glumberland, Ooblets, has gone gold. This means the game has completed its pre-launch certifications and its release date is drawing near. I've been anticipating the full release of the game for a while, and I cannot wait to begin playing this indie title that mixes monster collecting, farming, and dancing.
