Sunday Scoops 10/23/22
It’s Sunday, and that means it's time to talk about all the gaming news this week
By: Evan1Sonic. This week has been a steady week of news, with news from the recent Silent Hill and Resident Evil events, The Sims Project Rene, a next-gen Sims game being revealed, and more.
News From the Recent Silent Hill Transmission. The Silent Hill Transmission event that aired on October 19th featured lots of new games set in the Silent Hill franchise. Some of these games include Silent Hill 2 Remake, a PS5 console-exclusive (that’s also coming to PC) from Bloober Team, and Silent Hill: Ascension, which is a new take on the Silent Hill universe directed by J. J. Abrams. Another title shown at this event was Silent Hill: Townfall. This game from Annapurna Interactive is the next new Silent Hill title. Past that, it’s unclear what this game will look like, but we’ll learn more about it early next year. A new video game film adaptation, Return to Silent Hill, was also announced. It will be directed by Christophe Gans, and it sounds like it’ll be largely based on the events of Silent Hill. To round out the show, Silent Hill F was revealed. This game is set in Japan and looks horrifying. This event provided a nice look at what to expect from the Silent Hill franchise in the future, and you can watch the full transmission here.
News From the Recent Resident Evil Showcase. The Resident Evil Showcase event that aired on October 20th featured a few horror titles from Capcom. Some of these games include Resident Evil Village Gold Edition and Resident Evil 4 Remake. Some other highlights were Resident Evil 2, 3, and 7 being announced to be coming to the Switch, and Resident Evil Re:Verse getting a new trailer.
