What Ya Playing Wednesday??
By: Evan1Sonic. It's Wednesday, which means it's time to talk about the games you and I've played/enjoyed this past week. More information about where to send your submissions to be featured in the series can be found at the bottom of this post. This week I've been playing Pokémon Legends: Arceus and The Gunk.
The Gunk is an action-adventure game from the creators of Steamworld. I'm around 75% of the way through this game and I'm enjoying it so far. You play as Ronnie, a member of a two-person group of space explores looking to make it rich when they discover uncharted land. While sucking up the gunk is satisfying nothing else about the gameplay blew me away. When you gain the ability to sprint it feels incredible but only because your base move speed is too slow. The platforming feels fine with very little challenge. The story is about average so far and I like most of the characters. The game as a whole feels slightly above average, nothing has surprised me (yet) but I'm enjoying it nonetheless. This is a short game that takes three to four hours to finish and is perfect as a palette cleanser between bigger titles. I'll talk about this game in more depth next week as I will have finished it at that point.
Pokémon Legends: Arceus is an action-RPG game from Game Freak. I've only played about an hour or two since my First Impressions and I'm still loving the game. In Pokémon Legends: Arceus you take on the role of a new Survey Corps member. The purpose of this group is to meet every Pokémon species in the Hisui region while trying to create the land's first-ever complete Pokédex. I'm really enjoying filling out this Pokédex. It requires you to complete certain objectives such as catching the Pokémon x amounts of times or battling it x amounts of times. The only reason I haven't been playing more of this game is simply that I've been busy writing content for the site. With all the games releasing in the next few months, it'll most likely be a bit before I finish this game.
